BIOLOGICAL/NATURAL WASTEWATER SYSTEM OPERATOR<br><br>Person qualified to control the manipulation of equipment and thereby determine the quality of the effluent from a wastewater treatment plant that is classified as biological/natural. A plant in that classification uses natural biological treatment as the predominant means of treatment, including stabilization ponds, intermittent sand-filters, spray irrigation, constructed wetlands, aerated lagoons, and overland flow systems. <br><br>PROSPECTIVE: <br>Certification is required for persons in direct charge of a wastewater treatment plant classified as a biological/natural system.<br><br>REQUIREMENTS: <br>Must have a high school education or equivalent, have twelve months of operating experience in a wastewater system classified as a biological/natural system, and meet the examination requirement. <br><br>CONTINUING EDUCATION: <br>Within each 3-year period each certified operator must satisfactorily complete a conference, training course, or school approved by the Board. <br><br>EXAMINATIONS: <br>Examination is written (except for accommodations made for disability). It may contain matching, multiple choice, true-false, discussion, and short answer questions and may contain problems. 70% is required to pass.
