Qualified applicants may earn certification in one or more of five individual fields of practice in cosmetology: barbering, esthetics, hair design, nail technology, eyelash services, and natural hair care. As defined in ORS 690-005(4): "Cosmetology" means the art or science of beautifying and improving the skin, nails and hair.
