Requirements 1. Must be a resident of Wyoming. 2. Must be 18 years of age or older. 3. Must be able to read and write English. 4. Must pass an examination. 4. A $500 bond is required to be filed with the county clerk in the county where the notary public will be working. Continuing Education: There are no continuing education requirements for Notaries Public Restrictions Cannot be a convicted felon Schools located in Wyoming The Wyoming Secretary of State office regularly offers a course of study to applicants for new or renewed commission that covers laws, rules, procedures, and ethics related to the duties of a Notary Public. License Anyone wishing to become a notary public must obtain a commission from the Wyoming Secretary of States office. Notary Public commissions are valid for six years. Examination An applicant for a new or renewed commission as a notary public in this state must pass an examination administered by the secretary of state or an entity approved by the secretary of state.
