WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR GRADE I <br><br>Person qualified to control the manipulation of equipment and thereby determine the quality and quantity of the water supplied by a water treatment plant system classified as Grade I. Certification is required for persons in direct charge of water treatment plants of Grade I. (Some employers require additional operators to be certified.)<br><br>REQUIREMENTS: <br>An applicant must have a high school education or equivalent, must have twelve months of operating experience in a Grade I wastewater treatment plant, and must complete examination requirements. A maximum of three months of college classwork or related training can be substituted for the same amount of experience. <br><br>CONTINUING EDUCATION:<br>Within each 3-year period each certified operator must satisfactorily complete a conference, training course, or school approved by the Board. <br><br>EXAMINATIONS:<br>Examination is written (except accommodations made for disability). It may contain matching, multiple choice, true-false, discussion, and short answer questions and may contain problems. 70% is required to pass.
